Maintenance · coming off medication

What happens when you stop is planned before you start.

The fear people name most after cost: regain. Our answer is a taper written into the plan on day one and a maintenance program with a dietitian, monthly readings and a nurse to call, at $199 a month with no medication.

  • The taper is on the plan from the Starting Line: how the dose steps down and over how long.
  • Maintenance is $199 a month: a monthly body composition reading, a dietitian session, and your nurse on the phone.
  • Protein, strength and sleep are the plan; the readings tell us whether muscle is being kept.
  • Results vary and regain is possible. We measure it instead of pretending otherwise.

Why it works

Appetite comes back. The plan should already be waiting.

When a GLP-1 medication stops, the appetite it quietened returns over weeks, and many people regain some of what they lost. Clinics that sell medication by the month rarely mention this, because the month after the last one is not theirs. We mention it at the Starting Line, in writing, with the taper and the maintenance program beside it.

Maintenance is not a diet. It is the same readings, the same dietitian and the same nurse, on a monthly rhythm, so the first weeks without medication are watched by the people who watched the weeks with it. Some people never need medication again; some return to a low dose. Both are on the plan.

The Starting Line, in four steps

  1. 01

    Labs

Drawn on site at the first visit: metabolic panel, thyroid, A1c, lipids. Back within two business days. Nothing is prescribed before they are.

  2. 02

    Body composition

Muscle, fat and water, not just a number on a scale. Repeated at week twelve so the plan protects muscle, not just the total.

  3. 03

    The plan

Medication if any, the dose schedule, the weekly check-in day, two dietitian sessions, the monthly NP visit, the price, and the exit plan. In writing, yours to keep.

  4. 04

    The weekly

The same nurse every week, in person before work or on video at lunch. Side effects, dose, food, the hard week. A person, not a portal.

Who this is for, and who it is not

For
  • Anyone finishing a Wrenhaven program, on medication or not.
  • People who started medication elsewhere and want a taper with a clinician instead of a cold stop.
  • People who want their muscle measured, not guessed, while the dose comes down.
Not for, or not yet
  • Anyone who wants a promise against regain. Nobody can make one honestly, and we will not.
  • Anyone on a medication that needs more frequent review; Dana will say so.
  • People looking for a fixed-term package; maintenance is monthly.

Illustrative stories. Wrenhaven is a fictional clinic; these are written examples, not patient reviews.

The dose came down over eight weeks while Elise rebuilt my breakfasts. The month-four reading looked like the month-one reading, and that was the point.

Illustrative story, maintenance

I came from a telehealth plan that just stopped mailing it. Dana tapered me properly and nobody was surprised by anything.

Questions

Questions people ask before they book

Still unsure? Call (615) 555-0164 and ask Jordan.

Will I regain the weight?

Some people regain some of it, and nobody can promise otherwise. The maintenance program exists to measure it monthly and act early, with food, strength and, if needed, a low dose.

How long is the taper?

Usually six to twelve weeks, stepping the dose down with a nurse check-in at each step. It is written on your plan from day one and adjusted with the readings.

Can I go back on medication?

Yes, after a visit with Dana and, if it has been a while, new labs. It is a decision, not a failure.

What is in the $199?

A monthly body composition and blood pressure reading with your nurse, one dietitian session, and your nurse on the phone. No medication.

I started medication somewhere else. Can you taper me?

Yes, after a Starting Line visit so we know your labs, your dose history and what you are on. Bring the paperwork.
